Nearing the end of 2020

It’s just over a week before the end of 2020. Today was the first time in quite a while where my work day was mostly peaceful and I didn’t feel rushed to type non-stop just to keep pace and prevent work from piling up.

I hope that 2021 will be a much happier year for myself and all of you out there. 2020 has been miserable for many except the wealthiest who were more than capable of adjusting to the changes and see ever larger gains while common folk lost their jobs, homes, and loved ones especially during this pandemic.

It’s hard to imagine how my life would be different if I was located somewhere that has been hard hit by COVID-19. Japan has adopted measures to help prevent the spread of the virus, and it has come with costs socially and economically. But it has not reached the point of being locked down in your home.

I count myself lucky not to have been infected, to the best of my knowledge, with COVID-19, and I hope everyone stays safe as the fight to return to a normal life before the virus continues. Vaccines are expected to become more available and accessible in 2021, but it’s going to take time for vaccinations to take place.
