This is probably the first time I’m writing about personal health and wellness in general. I think everyone is familiar with the subject of posture even if they aren’t actively working on it.
We get lectured about it as kids. Sit up straight, no slouching, hands on your hips, and all those things. But most of the times we get lectured about posture, it’s about appearances and the impression we project, and less frequently about it’s impact on our health and wellbeing.
With the advent of electronic devices, we’re not strictly talking about poor posture when sitting down and being hunched over while writing down long papers or reading a book. Mostly it’s about when we’re spending hours on the computer or flipping through a tablet or phone.
Now, more than ever, in the advanced economies of the world where work is less physical labor and more repetitive tasks or desk work, health issues not just with weight and exercise, but also posture are something we all contend with on a regular basis.
I want to talk more in detail later on and share my thoughts and perhaps solutions for the problem. For now I just introduced the issue to help bring more awareness to it on my blog.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more.
