Resignation Officially Declared

Day 79 of writing every day.

Today is the 28th, the last day of February. Emails along with contract details were sent out a month prior to the current one’s expiration date as per labor law requirements in Japan according to a coworker who is more familiar with the system.

I had to open it up and either accept or reject it since I’m quitting outside of the contracting period, and letting it expire instead of “breaking contract.” There was nothing different except a larger raise that had been planned in adjusting for inflation, but calculations suggest that was it for the raise.

The inflation adjustment raise really is just a one-time thing that many organizations have done in some form I believe, so it felt odd not seeing a regular raise supplemented by the adjustment raise. Maybe the higher-ups are being cheap.

Anyways, after confirming several times that I indeed am planning to let my contract expire and quit, it seems I’m finally on my way out of a job at a company I’ve come to despise.

It’s really happening. March is gonna be a month full of changes for the positive. I’m quite confident of it.

Thanks for reading!
