Day 88 of writing every day.

I forgot to upload the day 87 post I had finished writing last night, so I posted it this morning. It’s not uncommon to lose track of things; that is why we have planners and calendars to help us stay on top of things. I’m not old enough to be worrying about dementia or going senile, but I’ve read that stress does affect the brain’s ability to function, and negatively impacts functions like memory.

In terms of work stress, I’m pretty much burnt out and just marking the days I have left (just 6 more full days!).

However what type of work you do also can impact your ability to stay organized. If you’re given a bunch of different tasks that seem random and completely unrelated, chances are your memory for that day won’t be as clear as if you focused on fewer tasks performed over longer periods of time.

Given that the tasks I have to do are both pretty random and tedious, I think it’s the nature of the work on top of the stress that’s affecting my ability to keep track of things. This and my room starting to feel messy again seems to be just bad things that bounce off of each other in a negative self-feeding cycle.

Well, I know what I need to do, so I’ll get what I can do when I get home. Every item on the floor or left unsorted is contributing to the negativity, so everyone I get tossed out or sorted will be a step towards sanity.

Thanks for reading!
