Day 100 of writing every day.
I probably got around 6 hours of sleep, and despite being up and about all day yesterday, I woke up today feeling a lot more recharged than any of the past days I had to go to work. And that’s on top of going to bed earlier to feel more energized at work.
I won’t say it’s all because of work vs. no work though. I did go get a full-body massage during the free time between 2nd and 4th period. This was due to the fact my body felt like it needed some adjusting—some tuning if we’re talking about an instrument. But that’s probably because my job did not think it important to be considerate of worker health in respect to workspace and work style. So I guess it really does go back to work being the problem.
Anyways, it feels good to be putting an end to that toxic relationship that my job had become. So here’s a shout-out to everyone who’s been through the same experience of ending something and feeling totally liberated by the act. It takes courage to do something as big as quitting a job when so many people can’t afford to miss a day of work to pay the bills and do more than just survive.
It’s too early to celebrate, however, as I found out that JavaScript (and probably React) has a much higher learning curve than the basics of HTML and CSS. Squeezing in three lessons a day for the remainder of this month except the weekend won’t be a walk in the park. I found myself stumped by a practice exercise and it’s good that I’m running into things I can’t solve on my own. That means I’m learning new things and picking up skills on looking at things from another perspective.
Anyways, I think I’ll fall asleep pretty quickly tonight.
Thanks for reading!
