Day 192 of writing every day.
Going to work for 8 hours a day might take some getting used to, but studying for the same amount of time a day feels much harder. I’ll be logging my study progress for the time being instead of writing my thoughts as much for the time being
Morning:
I got up early again but was awoken by the sound of rain hitting the tarp of the soft drinks wholesaler next door to my apartment. Resisting the temptation to just game and instead focusing on my life priorities, I went and studied instead. My initial reaction might have been to go out for a short walk and breakfast if it had been sunny, but since it was pouring, I decided to stay in.
Thankfully, the study room where other people who are currently enrolled or graduates of the online school was up running from 6:30 to 8:00, so I hopped in just as a way to feel like I’m staying on task with people watching me for around 30 minutes.
I checked my phone and was surprised to see my career advisor messaged me in the middle of the night a couple hours before dawn. She did say she has a habit of working over time a lot, so she’s not normal by my standards, but I appreciate that she had made time on Friday to have a video meeting to help prepare for interviews again.
Afternoon:
I had an interview in the late afternoon, so I used that as a motivator to get in some study time beforehand to stay focused. After all, I needed to be in the mindset of coding for the interview.
I felt like I should have tried harder for the interview when I was done. They seemed like the best place to work at so far out of all the places I’ve interviewed with, but there’s only so much I can do to leave a good impression and the rest depends on what they’re looking for and the competition.
Night:
Having interviewed today and more lined up, I’m feeling more confident that I’ll find a job soon, perhaps after the June deadline I set based on visa reasons, but as long as I’m employed within a reasonable amount of time I should be fine…
