Day 198 of writing every day.
The job hunting process is filled with unknowns if you’re not some hot talent that everyone is falling over each other to woo you over to. Unlike big corporations that have cities bid with special exemptions and even subsidies, you the job seeker have to put yourself out on the line and actively ask for a chance to work just to be able to survive in modern society without resorting to crime.
We all have expectations of success in the end but the length of the road filled with failure along the way is never the same for anyone or at any point in their working life. The ticking clock I have to find a job is probably one that I’ve held over my head. I don’t know for sure how immigration will react to my finding a job past their given deadline, but it’s no longer something within my control.
Rather than worry about my visa status, I’ll just stay focused on the hunt and mail them a notice that I’ve found a new employer after it all happens. If they decide I’ll need to go through extra steps or if I have consequences to face, then it’ll happen when it happens. I’m done fantasizing about the worst case scenarios and will focus on what’s real and in front of me.
