Day 207 of writing every day
I haven’t been focusing on writing as much since my attention has been turned to finding a job. While I’ve interviewed with several places already, some seem to be slow with their response or just seem to neglect to reply. Although some companies say that if you don’t hear back from them that means you got rejected, I think the practice really shows a lack of human empathy.
Job applicants spend so much time trying to find the right job and my understanding is that it doesn’t even take a minute to send a rejection email if you’ve already got a template ready to go and all you need to do is fill in the rejected person’s name and email. If your hiring manager doesn’t even have such time in their schedule to do such things, it kinda shows your company values as being inconsiderate to people who aren’t even under your control and that you don’t provide workers the training or have the decency to say thank you for your time.
Employees are on paid time to interview candidates as part of their responsibilities to my knowledge. Job seekers could be the candidate they need for all they know. If there’s simply too many people to respond to, like hundreds of thousands, then I could understand, but if it’s between maybe 20 to 30 people, then that’s just rude to silently reject people.
Anyways I signed up for Thread when I saw people post about it. All you need to do is approve your account usage after installing the app if you already use Instagram.
