Day 211 of writing every day
It’s been a whole week of record high temperatures across the world from the tidbits of information I glimpse at from the news. In Japan June is a rainy season and it’s in July when the rain lets up that the heat really starts to set in. It’ll still be humid and there may be occasional typhoons, so an end to days of rain doesn’t really lead to a respite.
I took the day slow and spent most of it indoors where the air-conditioning keeps things comfortable. I can walk around without sweating if I’m not carrying much and wearing loose clothing, especially if I’ve been cooled down by the cold air blasting out of the machines.
While I could go and look and apply for job openings with Hello Work, I’m still waiting to hear back from a few companies and I get the feeling that I’m not their top candidate if they seem to be dragging their feet on reaching out to me after the initial interview. A rejection notice is a lot quicker and they didn’t seem the type to just quietly reject without even a word.
I’m focusing on the IT Passport exam that I’ve been writing about recently, and I’m getting close to the end of the study guide. I’ll be going through practice problems taken from past exams and testing my knowledge as I gauge the true difficulty of the exam. If I don’t procrastinate, I’ll go and register tomorrow so I might be able to take the exam by the end of the month if there are any slots still open with a timeframe that gives me sufficient time to review and better grasp the content.
On top of that, I’m also going through a highly rated web developer course on Udemy that I left unfinished a few years ago when I couldn’t maintain the motivation and didn’t have a clear vision for where I wanted to go by learning to program/code. I’m keeping myself busy and productive, at least that’s what I tell myself.
It’s frankly too hot to want to spend time outdoors with the blazing sun threatening to burn you with just a small amount of exposure. While the days are longer in the summer, it would be foolish to spend too much of it outside without proper protection and comfortable clothing that’s not going to cling to your skin too uncomfortably. Stay cool!
