Day 223 of writing every day.
The IT Passport exam has been weighing on my mind for a good amount of time now. The exam is on Wednesday afternoon, and there’s less than three full days left before it. When I first got through the exam study material, it felt like the content wasn’t hard, but when I took the practice test, my naive little bubble of confidence burst when I found myself frequently stumped by questions.
For example, not recalling what an acronym stood for destroyed me as that was my only clue to narrowing down which choice is the correct answer to the question. Some math is involved in certain questions as well, and I found myself not quite understanding what I’m supposed to be figuring out and which numbers are relevant to the question. Lastly, while I understood the gist of a lot of concepts, the test checks how precisely you understand the concepts and I had to separate what belonged to a concept instead of just broadly categorizing good vs. bad practices.
Taking the practice test and being confronted with the simulated actual difficulty of the test helped me understand where I should focus more time and energy on, and also prompted me to get on with going over the study material again, but at a much faster pace. After all, I only needed to review and solidify my understanding of sections I was still shaky on and could quickly glance over parts where I was more than confident.
I think I should be able to pass the exam if I keep up the final days of reviews.
Thanks for reading!
