Day 233 of writing every day.
In positive news where I feel like I’m making progress on my to-do list, the new washing machine I ordered arrived this morning and got installed. To make room for it, I spent a little time cleaning, or rather clearing, the area last night so the two-man crew could come in without worrying about any obstacles.
As planned, they took the old washing machine away for me and will handle the “recycling” process for me, but for all I know it might just be going to the dump through some removal service. With the new machine outside, it was merely a matter of the duo lifting the old machine out and bringing the new machine in. There was a little window of opportunity to wipe down all the dust that collected over the years underneath the washing machine when they took out the old machine.
They still needed to get the new machine out of its packaging and it takes a couple minutes to carefully unwrap and remove the plastic and styrofoam. I didn’t get everything, but the platform that the washing machine rests on got clean enough.
After hauling the new machine in, one proceeded to connect the tubes for the water to flow into the machine and one for the drain. The other proceeded to move the old machine to their delivery truck. The estimate for the old machine’s removal was going to be calculated as well.
In the end, the process took under 15 minutes starting from the apartment entrance to them finishing their business. The machine is basically ready to go once it’s all plugged in, but one man started it up just to make sure it cycled properly and water was being delivered. I don’t have any laundry to do tonight, so I’ll test it out tomorrow and hopefully it’ll run smoothly without issue and prove to be a good cleaner.
