Day 241 of writing every day.
My new phone arrived in the mail delivery box yesterday afternoon as scheduled. I arranged it so that I had my ID verified beforehand and could skip doing that at delivery. I thought they were still going to call me to come pick it up in person, but they ended up just putting it in the locked deposit box when I decided to check in the middle of the time slot the delivery would be made.
As with new phones, I wasn’t expecting it to be charged and decided to plug it in before trying to do anything with it. After the Hello Work visit, I felt like I needed to treat it as an off-weekday and decided to game. I ended up putting off setting the phone up until later in the evening. It wasn’t like my old phone wasn’t running right or anything, and I wanted to be sure I had all my login info ready before switching over the controls to the new SIM card in the new phone.
While most apps transfer login info without issue as long as I was logged into Google, I needed to be sure as I recalled Line needing to essentially flip a switch and get it all done within a certain amount of time. Otherwise the process of switching to a new phone and retaining all your data might run into some issues.
I’m probably overthinking, but better safe than sorry when it comes to—especially when it comes to data. I don’t want to be unable to login to something, particularly if I paid money for a subscription or something or have some credits loaded up on an app.
I also have a glass film I ordered that I’m waiting on to arrive, and while the phone I got is the next version in the same series with almost identical dimensions, I got a new case for it as well, since everyday wear and tear does has worn down the cover on my old phone from which I wrote today’s post.
Hopefully I’ll get it all done by tomorrow. I finished logging into most apps I use on my new phone, and once I feel confident I’ve gotten everything, I’ll go ahead and activate the SIM card on my new phone to transfer the carrier’s phone and data connection from my old phone to the new one.
And hopefully I’ll sleep easier, cause I for some reason didn’t feel sleepy at all last night until 5 AM this morning.
Thanks for reading!
