The Sun Burns Hotter

Day 251 of writing every day.

While I spend much of my day indoors, it’s quite an adjustment when my body is exposed to the sudden big change in temperature when I step outside my air-conditioned room. Things might feel okay from inside where there’s shade and cooling but the heat of the sun hitting my legs just makes me start imagining how hot the asphalt roads must be right now.

This year’s July has been the hottest ever recorded and August seems to be filled with wildfires that always seem to be happening somewhere in the world since the start of this summer.

Unlike the past few days where the humidity was causing my body to sweat in the hopes of staying cool, today’s dry heat feels like the sweat is there to also keep skin from shriveling up. This isn’t a scientifically accurate statement, but how it feels being exposed. I’m getting the feeling that even the photosynthesizing plants are going to get a hole burned through their leaves with the heat.

Well, my mind’s going to be focused on work going forward again. I just hope I can maintain the self discipline needed to work at home with all the distractions.

Thanks for reading!
