Back To Work 2

Day 288 of writing every day.

The second day of my current assignment went better than yesterday. I’m guessing that the slightly more experienced team member who kinda showed us the ropes of the project had a better idea of what to do and how to divy up the different components of the project.

As a first assignment, the task involves using Access, Excel, and VBA to see if an existing system that relied wholly on Excel could be better optimized. Unfortunately such types of small projects are beneath pros who are often busy taking on larger more profitable requests that also require a good amount of programming and planning.

Microsoft applications, while still beyond the means of average people with no programming experience, can be learned by amateurs who put in the time and effort wracking their brains as they experiment and dig around for the right combination of things to get the desired results. There’s enough knowledge made available for those tenacious enough to keep pushing ahead while banging their head against the wall after struggling to get one thing done for a few hours.

Thanks for reading!
