Day 289 of writing every day.
It’s been a rolling hill kind of pace this week. The third day was rougher than yesterday but still felt more bearable than day one. I didn’t get as much sleep as I needed last night so that probably had a factor in today as well.
I’m still learning how things work, but I’m feeling a lot more confident using Access and VBA now even if there’s a heavy reliance on chat-GPT to get me answers and template code to work from.
The concept of a login form seems simple enough, but working with Access isn’t as easy as something that has all the components automated with a few lines of code. If anything, Access looks to be gradually phased out when compared to other database management systems that can be used for free.
It’s a lot more complicated to have to find how to set up user permission with VBA than having built-in functions that allow you to do it easily with a few clicks. After looking around online for solutions, I found out that Access had removed the user permission settings. That meant the solutions I saw people give for the question of setting up a login system in Access were using older versions which made the answers irrelevant in today’s situation.
I’m going to spend more time tomorrow trying to figure things out cause I am mentally spent.
Thanks for reading!
