Back To Work 9

Day 297 of writing every day.

Despite being week 2 and having gotten a bit used to my assignment, I feel more tired this week compared to the last so far I’d say. The elation of having output and producing a prototype component by component was satisfying. However, I’m guessing the honeymoon phase has passed and things are settling down. There are expectations and schedules to meet but no guiding hand and concrete benchmarks at the moment. This makes you wonder where things are going.

With the morning being just the 2 subcontractor-members of the team, things felt more relaxed when I worked on the details of the remaining screens with someone else working for the same company as me while the lead from the actual contractor went with their boss to discuss the status of things and present the prototype I assume. The pressure to get things done is self applied and that’s better than feeling being rushed by someone else.

Thankfully the mood was much lighter compared to yesterday. Perhaps the lead guy wanted to be as prepared as possible, but it turned out the client was practically technology illiterate, so nothing complicated got touched on at all. There was less info to work with than the team hoped to get out of the meeting, but that just means more time to figure out things and how to make it as simple as possible, such that dummies could understand the presentation and be able to use it without running into too many problems.

There’s going to be a lot of bumps along the road, but it’s part of the learning process I say.

Thanks for reading!
