Day 311 of writing every day.
Today doesn’t feel much different from yesterday in terms of how my body is doing overall. From what I could tell during the morning face washing routine, it looks like I have some kind of upper respiratory or sinus infection that my body is fighting off. The good thing is that it doesn’t seem to affect any parts other than the back of my mouth where it meets the nasal passage.
The day started off rocky with my train delayed by some accident way down the line. I made it to work a little late but I wasn’t worried since the training assignment isn’t high stakes or anything. Plus, the team is pretty chill in all respects.
The interview today was at 1pm, so there really wasn’t much time to get anything done with just the morning besides getting posted on what everyone’s doing and seeing if I can make some more progress on what I’ve been doing and anything else I might have missed that’s part of the design blueprints.
I was surprised to find out that the interview included a long lecture about how things are done at the warehouse the assignment would be at, and being asked to fill out a simple test form to check if the candidate has a competent understanding of information security. What I thought would take an hour ended up eating up the entire afternoon and I had no time left to work on my current assignment.
In all honesty, I wasn’t too impressed with the head rep of the assignment I’ll be joining. His talk was long-winded and ran on many tangents. I’m pretty sure it could have all been done within one hour following the test if they had been properly prepared and on top of things. But alas, they weren’t.
Thankfully the weekend is around the corner and there’s even a banquet tomorrow after a special training session at my current assignment tomorrow. Just gotta stay positive when I can.
Thanks for reading!
