Preview Of The New Assignment 2023

Day 328 of writing every day.

On Friday night, well past my work hours, I got messaged by my company boss about my kitting assignment starting tomorrow on Monday. I hadn’t received any clear instructions on what will take place, who to meet, and all the other good stuff you need to know before starting a job. I did email the guy who I understand will be the onsite supervisor about what I’m supposed to do on the first day, but didn’t get a reply. So I’m assuming that my boss got contacted instead and he passed the instructions along back to me.

It’s probably how the line of communications must work in the SES industry. The laborer gets contracted out to do work for a company as an outsider, and they technically are bound to follow the instructions of their employer and not the agency that they’d been sent to work for/at. That means for example, the supervisor might not be able to order me to do anything, so they’d ask my boss to tell me to do what they say, and I’d have to tell my boss that I agree to the notion of following the instructions of the supervisor.

It kind of feels like being in a temporary alliance where my company is sending me out to assist with the ongoing efforts of another enterprise and while I’m helping them, I’m not under their direct command even if I might operate under the same banner for all intents and purposes. But I’m not as useless as UN peacekeeper troops who just stand around.

Anyways, the weekend has been relaxing but it also went by too quickly. There’s never a weekend that is too long for anyone that’s working full-time as far as I’m concerned. I get the feeling I’ll be going to bed a lot earlier in the coming days and months so that I can get up at six and be out the door at seven.

Thanks for reading!
