Day 332 of writing every day.
My goal is to become a programmer and taking on a kitting assignment hasn’t changed that. I’m still trying to understand the industry and what positions are available, but doing 4 months of physical labor with nothing to do with programming isn’t helping with anything. That’s why I’ll need to make time to study on my own.
I asked the sales guy for my company and was recommended to study for the Java silver certification. It’s pretty common for that certification to get recommended to people looking to get into IT industry work in Japan from my experience so far. It’s a pretty standardized way of showing that someone has enough knowledge to understand some basics of programming, and did put in time and money rather than just show up thinking there’s easy money to make and anyone with no experience can make it.
I’m nearing the end of the first week of my current assignment and I hope my legs will only be tired for the time being as I adjust to being on my feet for 8 hours a day for work alone. Squatting down actually feels nice if I have to describe the fatigue my legs endure.
Thanks for checking in!
