Humans have to cooperate to survive as a society. But there’s always a present need for leadership so that people can better cooperate under a shared vision. If everyone’s doing their own thing, it’d take a lot of empathy and consideration that most people I’ve met are greatly lacking.
Unfortunately, people that get put in positions of leadership are apt to abuse that power to fulfill selfish desires. Perhaps that’s why a lot of people hate their jobs, as the issues often seem to be the people at the workplace and less about the tasks and responsibilities they have. That is, unless they’re being burdened with an unreasonable amount of work. But the root cause of that issue is again with the people with power.
Too many bosses think they’re hot shit, but they’re just egomaniacs who think they know better than everyone they work with and talk down to people even if they’re unaware of it. In fact, them being unaware of their own shortcomings is likely why they never change and improve, and that’s why people hate working under them.
My own pet peeve with my current assignment is how the superiors will eagerly spend an hour blabbering and lecturing about how to do things right but it’s all just empty words and they would rather talk an hour than do a minute worth of actual labor and put themselves in the shoes of people actually doing the labor they’re taking credit for and a larger cut of the pay of. May karma visit upon them the suffering their incompetence causes people. But they’ll just keep blaming others for their own faults.
