Bootstrap Pulling You Up

Day 239 of writing every day.

Learning CSS inevitably leads to learning to use libraries of code that allows you to save time writing out everything. A CSS library known as Bootstrap is the most commonly used CSS library, and its usefulness is demonstrated by how quickly it allows someone to design a professional looking website in a short amount of time with a little bit of practice.

CSS design requires you to target elements such as paragraphs, headings, images, etc. Targeting everything in a webpage can take an enormous amount of time if there are a lot of components, but Bootstrap has a bunch of code already written for you to use and it’s made accessible by simply inserting a link to their URL in the head of the HTML.

Bootstrap is free to use and comes with many useful templates that are free to use, but also has premium tier templates that are accessible only to paying users. Despite still needing a lot more practice and experimenting, I am starting to see the appeal of Bootstrap as a way to make a portfolio look good despite being inexperienced. I can’t help but wonder why so many Japanese websites look so crummy to this day if something as handy is available and relatively easy to use.

Well, if I can start stealing designs from other websites to use as inspiration, I’m positive I’ll be able to build up a portfolio of mock-ups to sell my “skills.”

Thanks for reading!
